Dr. Derek Potvin

Say “hello” to Dr. Derek Potvin!

He made the leap into NuSpine after managing his private practice for 10 years. With nearly 25 years of experience, you can expect to see him at our locations in Bressi Ranch and Oceanside.

He enjoys getting to know the different jobs, sports and hobbies of his patients, which helps him to better understand the underlying causes of their neck and back issues. Dr. Derek, as he’s known by patients, says the most rewarding part about working in healthcare is “seeing the patients progress from their initial visit to how much they improve from our services.”

Born in Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario, Canada, he obtained his Bachelor of Science degree in chemistry from Laurentian University. He eventually earned his Doctor of Chiropractic from Northwestern Health Science.

Fun fact: Dr. Derek was a hockey player in college!

Dr. Jeff Listiak, D.C.

With more than 20 years of healthcare experience, you’ll see Dr. Listiak at our Oceanside location.

He’s excited to see patients commit to doing what it takes to get well and then experience the amazing results that come through chiropractic care. He loves hearing about the wonderful times people are enjoying with their families now that their health is restored.

Dr. Listiak grew up in San Diego and currently lives in Vista. He earned his Bachelor of Science degree in electrical engineering from the University of Pennsylvania and then went on to serve three tours as a Naval Officer. After a body surfing injury, he found chiropractic and was so inspired, he completed a Doctor of Chiropractic degree from Life Chiropractic College West in Hayward, California.

Spending time with his family, taking walks with his wife, working on a race car with his son, discussing science with his daughter and camping in the mountains are some of the things he enjoys.

Fun fact: Dr. Listiak has been working with his hands since he was young, helping to build three different houses and developing skills in a number of trades.

Dr. Burton Lucich, D.C.

With more than 25 years of experience, Dr. Lucich enjoys meeting new people, getting to know them and helping them reach their health goals.
He finds the most rewarding part about working in healthcare is “helping people in critical pain and seeing them get back to living their lives fully.” Dr. Lucich recalls this memorable story: “I’ve treated numerous professional surfers, including Kelly Slater, Joel Parkinson, Bruce Irons, Buzzy Kerbox and Adriano de Souza. I compete in a lot of local surfing events and I help by adjusting my fellow surfers as well.”

Born in San Pedro, California, he earned his Bachelor of Science degree in biology from Cal State Fullerton and his doctorate from Los Angeles College of Chiropractic.
During his free time, he enjoys surfing and watching his child play baseball.

Dr. Brett Mason is one of the treating chiropractors at NuSpine Chiropractic at the Oceanside location.

He finds healthcare most fulfilling when he sees his patients’ commitment to their wellness and healing journeys. He says it’s rewarding to bring individuals to a level of health that keeps them doing the things they love, pain-free.

A Vista native, he has volunteered over the years at local organizations including Teri Inc. which works closely with individuals with special needs.

He received his Bachelor of Science degree in Kinesiology with an emphasis in health science from California State University San Marcos and his Doctor of Chiropractic from Southern California University of Health Sciences.

This was my initial visit and first spinal adjustment. I was pleasantly surprised how well this worked for my upper pain! Brett was wonderful and easy to talk to, thank you. I finished off the visit with a 10 minute Hydrotherapy massage.

Great experience! I felt heard and seen about the pain and discomfort I’ve been experiencing. They offer some good treatment plans but the Dr. doesn’t push anything on you.

I came across NuSpine Friday, after I had randomly misaligned my T-spine reaching for something. Scheduling an appointment was easy, they do take walk ins as well which is cool. Upon arrival I was greeted and taken back for an exam. And finally adjusted. Overall it was a great experience, the doctor listened to me and my needs and fixed the issue right away.

Great experience, I traveled to Oceanside for my son's wedding, but had hurt my back the day before. I was in a tough place hurt to move my back any amount. Dr Lucich knew exactly what I was experiencing and was great. He performed adjustments, made recommendations for me and had me better as I walked out. I got better, did come back 2 days later, felt good after, and the wedding went great also.
